A building materials store, from product page to paid order

Wood-plastic cladding, decking and flooring used to be quoted by email, one back and forth at a time. This store moves it online. Nine SKUs in four categories, guest checkout, bank transfer or cash on delivery. The six screenshots below come from an order I placed and followed through.

What went in

Installing the plugin is the easy part. The catalogue structure, checkout fields, payment options and order statuses are set up the way a materials supplier actually sells.

01

Catalogue split four ways

Wall cladding, flooring, decking, accessories. Every SKU carries size, colour and warranty, so a buyer can put an order together without asking for a spec sheet.

02

Checkout built for export

No account required. Address fields follow the country, pick Germany and the state list and postcode format change. Two payment options, transfer or cash on delivery.

03

Orders run from the admin

The order list shows customer, total and status. Payment clears, it moves from On hold to Processing, shipping goes to Completed and the customer gets the email.

One order, start to finish

A buyer in Hamburg orders twelve decking boards. No account at any point.
